We hope this newsletter finds you well! As we move through the month, we have some important updates and reminders to share with you.

- LCAP Survey- Thank you very much to all the families who completed the LCAP survey. This data is very important and helps us make decisions and adjustments to better support our students.

- No School on Monday: Please remember that there will be no school on Monday in observance of Lincoln's Day. Enjoy the long weekend!

- Kindergarten Schedule Update: Starting Tuesday, our Kindergarten students will begin extending their school day and will now stay until 2:30 PM. We are excited to see how this additional time will benefit their learning! As a reminder, the white curb directly in front of Oakmont is for drive-up pick-up only. There is no parking here as it slows down our pick-up process. If you would like to walk-up, please park across the street or on another side street. Thank you to all families for following our drop-off and pick-up procedures.

i-Ready Diagnostics: We are thrilled to announce that the i-Ready diagnostics have been completed! We are looking forward to seeing the academic growth of our students as they progress through the curriculum.

- 100th Day of School: The 100th day of school is on Tuesday, February 11th. We invite all the students to dress up like they are 100 years old!

Enrollment for BLAST/ELOP opens on March 14. Spots fill up quickly, so don't hesitate to enroll. As a reminder, students must enroll every year.

2025-2026 TK/K Registration

Registration for the 2025-2026 school year begins March 1. See the CUSD website to learn more about the TK-K opportunities at Oakmont and schools across CUSD, and encourage other families to do the same!

PFA Updates

Oakmont PFA needs you! Each year, PFA hold elections for positions on the board and election season is approaching. Please consider joining and becoming an integral part of Oakmont. See the flyer below about the available positions. Information about nominations and elections will be coming soon.

Anonymous Reporting

At Oakmont, we are committed to fostering a safe, supportive, equitable, and respectful environment where all students can thrive. The Anonymous Reporting Form allows students, staff, and families to report concerns anonymously about events that occur at school, including those related to bullying, discrimination, inequity, inappropriate behavior, or any other situation impacting student well-being. The link below will be included in each newsletter and will be posted in each classroom.

Reading Party

We will be hosting a reading party (formerly called AR party) again for this second trimester. Please see important dates and criteria.

Attendance

We have been seeing an increase in sicknesses. Below you will find a couple of helpful resources.

Five Day Attendance Total — Average of 90.4% of students were in attendance each day for the week of 2/3-2/7.

Five Day Attendance Trend — Average of 89.4% of students were in attendance each day for the week of 1/27-1/31.

Five Day Attendance — Average of 91% of students were in attendance each day for the week of 1/17-1/24.

Let's recognize Miss Bernice and Miss Cece! This contest is a meaningful way for students to showcase their creativity while celebrating the incredible contributions of our school nutrition professionals.
