Dear Oakmont Families,
I hope this newsletter finds you well! We've had an incredibly exciting week filled with memorable events and special visitors. Let me share some highlights with you!
APEX Color Run Success! 🏃♂️🎨
What an amazing turnout for our APEX Color Run! Thanks to your incredible support and generosity, all money raised is for our upcoming biome field trips. Seeing our students dash through clouds of colorful powder while parents and volunteers cheered them on was truly heartwarming. A special thank you to all the parents who volunteered their time to make this event such a success. The smiles on our students' faces were absolutely priceless!
Special Visit from Claremont Mayor 🏛️
Our fourth graders had the unique opportunity to meet Mayor Calaycay this month. During this memorable visit, students engaged in thoughtful discussions about local government and community leadership. The Mayor was impressed by our students' insightful questions about Claremont's future and current initiatives. These real-world connections truly enhance our students' learning experience!
Hooting with Pride at Little League 🦉⚾
Our beloved mascot, the Oakmont Owl, made a special appearance at Claremont Little League's opening day ceremonies! It was wonderful to see our school spirit extend into our community events. Many of our students and families were there to celebrate the start of baseball season, making it an even more special occasion. I want to send out a huge THANK YOU to our student volunteer for participating and making the day even more memorable! Your dedication and enthusiasm truly showcased the Oakmont spirit. Go Owls!
Bucket Filler Assembly
What a joy it was to gather for our bi-monthly Bucket Filler Assembly! This special event celebrates the hearts and actions of our amazing students who exemplify our core values. We're so proud to recognize students who have been caught acting with kindness, integrity, and responsibility.
We also recognized students from each classroom who exemplify perseverance and gratitude. This month, we're focusing on developing and practicing empathy. Our students are learning to:
- Understand others' feelings
- Listen with their hearts
- Support classmates through challenges
- See situations from different perspectives
Remember, every small act of kindness fills someone's bucket! Keep encouraging your children to look for ways to spread kindness and show empathy to others.
