February 18-February 26th: Our largest fundraiser of the year is just around the corner. All of our fundraisers help to pay for our biome field trips. Please read the information below about why we decided to go with APEX again this year and how much money was raised during each fundraiser last school year. More information will be sent home on Tuesday.

Volunteers Needed!

We are looking for parent volunteers to help on the day of the APEX fundraiser on February 26th. Time slots are available between 8:00-10:30 am.

Safety is our top priority at Oakmont, and we have procedures in place to ensure that drop-off and pick-up times are safe for students, staff, and families. Green Street is narrow and can become congested during these times. To help keep everyone safe, always use the designated crosswalks when approaching and leaving the school. Crossing in undesignated areas creates a dangerous situation for both pedestrians and drivers. Please model safe behavior for our students by using the crosswalks at all times. Together, we can reinforce good habits and prioritize safety for our entire school community.

Additionally, the sidewalk beyond the stairs/ramp on the far east end of Green St. will be designated for handicapped drop-off and pick-up. Families of students with disabilities may exit their cars to safely walk their child to and from campus. Once the student is safely on campus, families must return to their vehicle and exit the drop-off/pick-up lane immediately to keep the area open for others—please do not wait until the bell rings. Families using this designated area must enter the drop-off/pick-up lane following our usual protocol and continue forward until reaching this location. We are in the process of getting signage to help designate this area.

It is essential that cars pull all the way forward during drop-off and pick-up times and follow the directions of staff members. Stopping short or refusing to move forward slows down the entire process and creates unnecessary congestion. Our staff is there to ensure a smooth and safe flow of traffic—please do your part by following their guidance. A little cooperation goes a long way in keeping everyone safe and making drop-off and pick-up more efficient for all.As a reminder, at no time are families allowed to park between the crosswalk in front of the office and the designated handicap drop-off.

During March, students in grades 3-6 will take Interim Assessment Blocks (IABs) in both English Language Arts and Math. These assessments are administered on the same platform as the California state test (CAASPP).

IABs serve two important purposes:

1. They provide valuable data to help us monitor student progress and guide instruction.

2. They allow students to practice and become familiar with the question types and testing format.

Please encourage your child to put forth their best effort each day, ask for help when needed, and take these assessments seriously. Every day is an opportunity for growth, and consistent effort will help them feel more confident and prepared.

Check with your child to see how close they are to reaching their reading goal!! The party is nearing, and we want ALL students to attend! Please reach out to your child's teacher if you have questions.

Enrollment for BLAST/ELOP opens on March 14. Spots fill up quickly, so don't hesitate to enroll. As a reminder, students must enroll every year.
