Oakmont Update

December 7, 2024
Oakmont Front

Hello families,

Welcome back! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break. With just two weeks until winter break, we have a lot to look forward to!

Here are a few highlights:

  • Bucket Filler Assemblies: Join us as we celebrate students showing kindness, integrity, and responsibility. As a reminder, if your child is receiving a character trait award, your teacher will reach out to you privately. However, if your child is receiving a track award, you will not be notified. Please ask your child if they turned in their track card. You are always welcome to attend these assemblies.

  • Winter Sing: Don’t miss this joyful family event where our students showcase their musical talents.

This is also a great time to help your child finish the year strong by staying focused on their learning. Consider setting aside a few minutes each evening to read together or review what they learned during the day. Small moments like these make a big difference!

Let’s make these last weeks of 2024 meaningful and memorable. Thank you for your ongoing support!

Attendance

As we enter cold and flu season, I want to remind you of the importance of keeping our school community healthy. Attached, you will find a helpful resource to guide you in determining whether your child should stay home from school or not.

If your child is exhibiting a fever, please make arrangements for them to remain at home until they are no longer contagious. While we value daily attendance and the learning opportunities it brings, sending a sick child to school can put others at risk and rest at home is best for your child.

Thank you for your partnership in keeping our students, staff, and families healthy.

Follow this link to the CUSD's Showing Up Together website page for guidelines on when to keep your child at home and other health services.
