Hello families!
We completed our first full week of school, and teachers are students are falling into their routines nicely. Teachers have been gathering baseline data from their students as they complete their diagnostic assessments. This data will inform teachers about the current strengths and needs of their class and students. Results of these assessments will be shared at our goal setting conferences that will take place on September 30-October 4th. Students in grades 1st-6th will dismiss at 1:00 pm every day that week, and TK-K students will continue to dismiss at 11:45 am.
Students were very excited to be outside playing at recess after our heat wave and poor air quality. Some favorite activities are playing volleyball, wall ball, basketball, sitting in the house, and playing on the many structures in our wood chip area. Our TK and K students love the swings, the bikes, and going down the slides. A great way to see what your child likes to play is to come to PFA's Family Sports Night on Thursday, September 19th from 5:30-6:30 pm. Be sure to check out the flyer below for more information.
Penny Wars starts Monday! There is a twist for Tuesday, 9/17/24. The class that brings in the most ROLLED pennies on Tuesday, September 17th will get an extra 5,000 points!
For families affected by the local fires, be sure to visit the City of Claremont for updates and resources.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Rodriguez
